Despite the positive feedback to Ultra’s first day, a horrific accident left a female security guard in critical condition Friday night. The unidentified guard was patrolling a gate near the Intercontinental Hotel between 9:30 and 10 P.M. when a mob of people pushed against the gate and trampled her. She apparently sustained head trauma and a broken leg during the incident, but her condition has worsened since she was admitted to the hospital.
The unidentified woman works for Contemporary Services Corporation, a company dedicated to providing event security and crowd control. Fifty one festival-attendees reportedly suffered injuries at last night’s event and 15 were hospitalized.
We hope the security guard’s condition improves in the coming days.
