Updates (Sept/2/14) – Ultra has officially made a statement about this new policy.
Original Article: According to promotional fliers that were distributed at the end of Electric Zoo this weekend, Ultra Music Festival is now an 18+ event. This information is located on the picture below, next to a sentence that reads: “the safety and security of our attendees, artists/performers, and personnel are our utmost priority and concern.”
As of now, this “updated” age restriction hasn’t been officially posted or confirmed by Ultra curators. Though, considering these fliers were being handed out at an event like Electric Zoo, we’re willing to believe they provide accurate information.
This age requirement would put Ultra in the same category as festivals such as Hard Summer and EDC. Now, is this age restriction a positive move? Possibly, after considering all of the tragedy that has struct at all ages events over the years. It’s clear that high profile festivals are starting to crack down on all fronts.
WhiteRaverRafting has reached out to UMF for a comment and we’ll be sure to update you with the information we receive, if we receive it.
