Today, January 13th, Ultra Music Festival co-founder, Alex Omes, has reportedly died at the age of 43. News released early this morning stated that the Miami dance scene legend passed away, however no information on the cause of death has been released.
Omes and former partner Russell Faibisch created what is now one of the most incredible music experiences on earth in 1999. Ultra Music Festival will without a doubt live on to see out the creative visions of Omes.
Though, before Alex Omes help found Ultra he was a publisher of D’VOX magazine, an outlet that highlighted Miami’s flourishing dance music culture, and he also worked as a bouncer. Music was truly in Omes’ blood and today the dance music communities all over the world will mourn the passing of an instrumental figure.
We’ll be updating this page as more information is released.
