Ultra Music Festival 2019 was pulled off with plenty of satisfaction and overall success. The festival, which just celebrated it’s 20th anniversary, is a homecoming of sorts for their global fan base built throughout the year in various countries. Ultra Miami also is the most popular USA destination for North America, altogether ten of thousands are in attendance each year.
Illenium, NGHTMRE, Jai Wolf, Armin, The Chainsmokers, and.. even David Lee Roth for gods sake! These and dozens more all took the stage and delivered a world-renown set built for the enduring fans in front of them and for the online audience soon to partake. Ultra has always been a digitally-connected event, with it’s famous livestreams being a source of entertainment a global audience of young people can relate to and salivate over.
Virginia Key was the big move this year and aside from hiccups that can come with any change, the festival played on time, on schedule, with virtually all stops and shops open and functioning within the grounds. Many bus shuttle spots at various locations took fans and staff on-location to Virginia Key a short drive away. Upon arrival, the view was perhaps more green, but classic Ultra from branding, music, quality, and beyond. You could even see the Miami skyline. It felt like home.
Some of the most hyped about sets this year had to be The Chainsmokers’ Sunday closer and Illenium’s live set, both setting the internet abuzz with their distinct sound with a wild-festival twist to it.
There’s no doubt Ultra will return to Miami for another successful year as 2020 approaches, as one of the most powerful brands in electronic music and a lineup that was the best in years (aside from last year), you can count on it’s continuing influence for year to come.
