This year Ultra is set to introduce a new segment of their festival labeled as “RESISTANCE.” The artists scheduled to perform on this stage reside mostly in the realm of deep house, tech house and techno.
Well known names like Pete Tong, Guy Gerber and Joris Voorn, to name a few, are set to play with several acts that aren’t as popular within the United States dance music circuit. This stage will surely be a source of electronic music education for many fans.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore sounds and rhythms that they’re not totally familiar with in an effort understand that there is more to electronic music than what meets the mainstream eye. Often American dance music lovers aren’t as familiar with certain styles because festivals and event organizers host the names that are hottest at the moment, rather than names that have had influence for years in genres that aren’t played vigorously on the radio or in an American nightclub.
