It’s the calm before the storm with EDC New York this weekend, but rest assured almost every major music scene in cities like Miami, DC, and LA still have so many other shows going on, you know summer is about to show it’s face (if the rain would ever stop). So get a warm glass of milk, put this on tonight, and then get ready to lose yourself for the weekend.
Julius Jetson – “Came To Get It”
DC Native Julius Jetson brings us a brand new original released Tuesday and whether you’re a fan of G house or not this track is sure to catch your attention. The smooth beats glides into what is my favorite part of this track, sampling from Hip-Hop artist Joe Budden’s 2003 single “Pump It Up.” This track is the perfect mix of deep, underground and upbeat vibes to either mellow out to or get your feet moving.
No Way Back- “Honey”
LA based producer and artist No Way Back has quickly gained recognition in the music world with his first single “It’s Not Right, but It’s Okay” which hit top 10 in the UK Music Week Club Chart and has been supported by artists such as Don Diable, Goldroom and more. He now brings us a new groovy house track “Honey” with smooth soulful vocals, steady kick-drums, claps and piano progressions. This sweet song is as smooth as honey.
Rudenko Feat. Rachel K Collier and Manizha – Wake Up
Recently released on Dirty Soul, a label home to artists such as Bakermat, Tom Bull, Funkerman and more, Rudenko brings us “Wake Up.” This track brings smooth melodic vocals and while leaning towards a more deep house sound this track gives an array of sounds that make it hard to pin to just one sub genre. Add the live strings Rudenko uses and you’ve got the making of a very easy listen with an added need to move and dance.
Jack Garratt – Surprise Yourself (GRYFFIN x Manila Killa Remix)
GRYFFIN & Manila Killa have teamed up again to take on Jack Garratt’s R&B track and rework it into a mix of house and electronica that ripple like synth waves, with a subtle but rhythm-keeping guitar strum. Check it out.
RY X – Only (Kaskade x Lipless Remix)
Kaskade is back remixing a song that was already so beautiful. However, put Kaskade and Lipless together, and we have a new track that is pushing beyond the boundaries of feels imaginable. Kaskade goes on to say:
Sometimes a song comes along that I can’t shake. I listen to it over and over again, and can’t stop myself from wanting to be a part of it. “Only” by RY X was perfect as it was, but I wondered if I could flip it into something I could play in my late-night sets. I pulled Lipless into the mix and we came up with this. Enjoy.
ShockOne – In This Light Feat. Savoi
The Perth, Australia D&B extroirdinaire ShockOne, aka Karl Thomas is back with his EP In This Light, which is also our favorite track from this EP as well. With sublime vocals by Savoi perfectly synced with the emotional draw of the track, it’s a track to stare at the stars and drift away.
Stan – Fluctuate
Close your eyes and let the violin-infused future bass of “Fluctuate” wash over you. Stan, a blossoming artist featured in our spotlight on the WUMP Collective earlier this year, combines his talents on the violin and brilliant production style, creating a truly special piece of bass music.
