Themes of musical maturity and evolution struck with the songs for this week’s Unwind The Mind. The bar is set higher and higher to become a recognizable, stand out up-and-comer. Two or three years ago as the scene was still growing things were different, and today we find ourselves in a world full of really good songs, so check out some of our favorite gems right now below.
Holmsey – Wilder
“Wilder” combines indie guitars and the popular high pitch vocal sounds to to be a housey, hypnotic ride that is perfect anytime music – the beach, the car, your friends – it fits it all. Holmsey, the Melbourne-based artist, is only 2 releases deep and already clobbering lots of plays. This guy has a cool chill house vibe to him, to say the least.

CVBZ – Vicodin
“Vicodin” immediately hits you with surprise as the group proves top-tier production quality is all their about. This single has a similarly strong vibes as their massive hit “Be Like You”, which caught fire with it’s super infectious feel. CVBZ are easily one of the top hot new acts of 2017, they keep the good sounds coming.
Ananda Beats – Release Feat. Akacia
“Release Feat. Akacia” was a fresh find, exceeding in many areas, a couple of my favorite being the 80’s synth vibe in the drop, the sustained, steamy sounds, and the super chill vocals. There is something personable and bit underground about the sound and art that’s unusually appealing too. Ananda Beats’s new one is a keeper.
Luna Shadows – Waves (Bronze Whale Remix)
“Waves (Bronze Whale Remix)” is unique on multiple levels, making it on of my favorite releases on the list this week. This one is chill with unique design throughout, from percussion to synths, as well as fluid arrangement, great mixing and mastering, and so on. Bronze Whale are on a roll right now, tackling HypeM, SoundCloud plays, and a bunch of important promotion all the time. These guys are going big.
Caden Jester – Let You Go (feat. FEiN)
“Let You Go (feat. FEiN)” is just fun, light, and easy to jam to anytime. The pop aspects are appealing and all the pieces of the song fit together in a way that is new. Dancing music could go in a lot of directions right now, this is one I would like to see more of.
