Voodoo is fest is right around the corner and as the days dwindle down (116 days) we have been thinking about who’s set we are most excited about. The 2016 line-up is surprisingly very EDM heavy from some of our big name fan favorites to a lot of local NOLA DJs.
The Chainsmokers, Porter Robinson, Gramatik, and Excision are all going to bring some straight fire to Voodoo fest and they will satiate are need to hear some of the fan favorites we all know and love. If we could get everything we wanted in life Porter would drop some new stuff, but we know this real life and not all of our dreams will come true at Voodoo.
In other news though the fest will feature local artist Unicorn Fukr (Erik Browne) who is very mystical in his approach to all different styles of EDM. Browne has been dazzling NOLA with his beats since 2007. In 2010 Browne and Herb Christopher (Who will also be featured at Voodoo) started Church and Konfession at the Dragons Den in NOLA. Church and Konfession are a Sunday night EDM party that keeps the rave alive in Louisiana.
Kidd Love who is also a NOLA native will be working his turntables in such a way you will not forget his name. If you have not had the chance to check him out we highly suggest his remix of Childish Gambino – Telegraph Ave.
Black Tiger Sex Machine is also going to hit the stage that weekend and we will definitely be in the crowd. The intensity and stage presentation this group has always leaves us begging for more. The tiger helmets not only add to their image they add to the suspension of disbelief on your small holiday away from reality.
We don’t know about you but Halloween puts us in the mood for some sick trap music. If that is your case too might we suggest going to see Snails. The Canada native makes everything but nice mixes. The snails trail will lead you right to a rage euphoria where he will living you dripping with slime.
To finish our list of must see artists is Slander. If this duo’s set is anything like their EDC Las Vegas set we will be content with life. The power and energy they pack into each set has us holding our breath for that sweet release of a bass drop.
