Ultra Music Festival recently dropped its 2018 after movie. Produced by Final Kid, fans can step back in time to relive every incredible moment that went down at the 20th anniversary edition of the festival, including the surprise closing set from the legendary Swedish House Mafia.
In the wake of the release came the shocking news that the festival lost its bid for a new five-year contract with the city of Miami to continue to host the event at its yearly stomping grounds, Bayfront Park. While it’s still unclear where the 2019 edition will take place, Ultra has confirmed that the show will go on as planned March 29-31, 2019.
Last year, Ultra Music Festival sent shockwaves through the internet. The surprise performance from Swedish House Mafia received a record- breaking 30 million views worldwide on Ultra’s live stream, a vision that comes to life in the last moments of the after movie. Meanwhile, it was the #1 trending topic on social media platforms worldwide that weekend, and it continued to garner buzz when news broke out that the 2018 edition was labeled Ultra Music Festival’s safest year yet, with both medical transports and arrests significantly reduced.
The 2018 edition surprised over 160,000 attendees with performances by Above and Beyond, Will Smith, Halsey, Desiigner, and Yo Gotti. If Will Smith’s throw down of his late 90s international hit “Miami” wasn’t enough to satisfy your being, headliners and legendary players that took to the stage over the weekend included Carl Cox, Tiesto, Eric Prydz, Steve Aoki, Armin Van Burren, Adam Beyer, Kaskade, Afrojack, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Empire of the Sun, Marshmellow, The Chainsmokers, and dozens upon dozens more.
