Australian producer Wax Motif has established himself as one of the most notable players in the electronic music scene due to his chart topping originals along with his role as one of the creators of the G House sound. His style covers everything from Disco to R&B to UK bass and he has released tracks on some of dance music’s most influential labels including Diplo’s Mad Decent, A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold, Tchami’s Confession, and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records. Keeping that momentum going, Wax Motif is back with a brand new EP via AC Slater’s label, Night Bass.
Consisting of two killer tracks, ‘Forsaken,’ most definitely showcases the proclivity Wax Motif has for the sound of UK bass. Kicking off with the title track, listeners are immediately drawn in with the haunting orchestral intro accompanied by ominous vocal samples and an addictive pulsating rhythm. The next track, “ Mental,” is one that Wax Motif teamed up with Brazilian producer Ricci on. It undeniably has a much deeper bass cut that takes clear influence from the thriving G House genre the Aussie himself made famous. If unfamiliar with Wax Motif before now, the ‘Forsaken’ EP represents his second release on Night Bass, the first being the label’s #1 best selling single of the year: AC Slater & Chris Lorenzo’s “Fly Kicks (Wax Motif Remix).” Stay tuned for more updates on Wax Motif and Night Bass in 2018 and be sure to catch him live on tour in 2018.
