Unleashing his genre-meshing style into the realm of EDM, it hasn’t taken long for WODD to make a name for himself. Raised in Paris but now residing in the nightlife hotspot of Montreal, this one-of-a-kind DJ and producer has shared the stage with top-tier artists, from Marauda to Dirtyphonics. Additionally, WODD’s infectious tracks have been released on prominent labels, such as Subsidia, Buygore, and Circus. Now, he makes an exciting return with his latest EP, Construct.
Dropped on Black Tiger Sex Machine’s Kannibalen Records, the new project is a perfect match for the imprint. Each of the four songs on Construct pushes the boundaries of genre and sound in unique ways. For example, “B.O.Y” is an electrifying hit that fuses bass house, disco-themed vocals, and more. On the other hand, the lead track “Dangerous” delivers a ground-shaking barrage of bass and interstellar effects. Then in “Tell Me More”, spirited lyrics are mixed with jazz progressions that lead into a funky wubz-centric drop.
Wrapping up Construct is “Too Good”, bringing things back to rage mode via its high-energy bassline and deafening sequence of dubstep. In its entirety, Construct paints a thrilling picture of the road ahead for WODD as he explores new sonic possibilities.
