Techno guru Adam Beyer’s collab with UK master duo Dense & Pika is a severe jaw-dropper in every sense of the term. Released earlier this month on his label Drumcode Records, it’s made up of two thundering tracks that perfectly close out what has been a momentous year for Adam Beyer. The Drumcode king’s legendary label celebrated it’s 20th anniversary in 2016. As you can imagine, Adam Beyer commenced the celebration with guns blazing, hammering out hundreds of shows and festivals over the year, including Awakenings and Junction 2, while his wildly popular Drumcode Radio show pulled in millions of listeners worldwide. In the midst of all the madness, this summer saw the release of his highly-acclaimed “A-Sides Volume 5” series that was made up of 20 tracks with techno’s biggest players such as Alan Fitzpatrick and Bart Skils.
The collaboration and release of Going Down further proves that Adam Beyer meant serious business this year. British big guns Alex Jones and Chris Spero (Dense & Pika) know a thing or two about creating massive mixes that are experimental, deep, and captivating from the first beat to the last, and that is exactly what has been mustered up amongst these three producers on this EP. The first track “Future” features deadly and seductive drums, while the second track “Going Down” offers a detonating beat, strung along by an ominous voice that pulls you over to the dark side. Both mixes are sure to have you bolting to the nearest warehouse party to keep the heavy-hitting, heart-stopping vibes alive.
