Slander and NGHTMRE have been collectively defining heaven trap as their own genre. Slander has been delivering a bevy of heaven trap remixes and songs like “Love Again” and their latest single, “Breathe”.
NGHTMRE has also been generating a ton of noise with his powerhouse remixes like “Dum Dee Dum” and “Limelight”. Put the two together and you receive festival trap anthems and good vibrations that will have you addicted. Without further ado, here are our top 15 favorite Slander and NGHTMRE’s releases.
1.) We Like To Party (Slander & NGHTMRE Festival Trap Edit)
It’s rather hard to decide which of Slander’s festival trap edits tops the other. However, this remix of Showtek’s, “We Like To Party” with NGHTMRE is one of my favorites and certainly a festival powerhouse.
2.) Raise Your Hands (Slander Festival Trap Edit)
Even without NGHTMRE, Slander’s festival trap edit of Ummet Ozcan’s, “Raise Your Hands” does it just right. Featuring a slight progressive touch at the start, this remix kills it all the same as their “We Like to Party” edit.
3.) Love Is Not Enough (Slander Heaven Trap Edit)
A beautiful remix of one of my favorite artists, Slander puts the perfect spin on Above & Beyond’s 2011 trance classic featuring vocalist Zoe Johnston. It’s unique because not only does it contain a heaven trap drop, but Zoe’s vocals are also chopped up in the drop which makes it that much more superb. You’ll often see Slander dropping this one last before heading off the decks, it leaves a tear in the eye and closes out the night perfectly.
4.) Keys N Krates – Dum Dee Dum (NGHTMRE Remix)
A touch of heaven trap on one of Keys N Krates’ most popular songs, NGHTMRE will keep your head bobbing with his remix of “Dum Dee Dum”.
5.) Just a Gent- Limelight ft ROZES (NGHTMRE Remix)
Before Chainsmokers dropped “Roses” featuring ROZES, NGHTMRE had already tapped that. His remix of “Limelight” featuring ROZES by Just a Gent is one his most honored remixes. If you haven’t heard it yet, why are you still reading this?
6.) Slander & NGHTMRE – Gud Vibrations
Slander & NGHTMRE never seem to disappoint with any of their collaborations, this one is certainly no exception. “Gud Vibrations” sends out nothing but “good vibrations” all over the dance floor.
7.) The Griswolds – Live This Nightmare (NGHTMRE Remix)
A seemingly suiting song for NGHTMRE to remix, he delivers nothing but his best heaven trap nightmare on this remix of The Griswolds.
8.) Pompeii (Slander Heaven Trap Edit) – Bastille, Party Thieves, Audien
Although this is a remix of Bastille’s popular song “Pompeii”, it’s certainly not a remix of the original song. Party Thieves & Audien receive credit in this because Slander’s trap edit is actually of Party Thieves’ remix. However, Party Thieves’ remix is of Audien’s progressive remix. If you haven’t heard Audien’s remix you should check it out, it’s certainly no “Leaving You”, but it does the job splendidly.
9.) Red Lips (Slander & NGHTMRE remix)
Another Slander & NGHTMRE remix and the last one on this list, they kill it with their remix of GTA’s “Red Lips”.
10.) Slander- Love Again
One of Slander’s great singles, this song leaves me with a smile on my face every time I hear it. It contains a sublime
heaven trap drop that Slander is known for.
11.) NGHTMRE – Street
NGHTMRE’s “Street” remix has a powerful build up and equally powerful drop. Check it out if you haven’t yet.
12.) Flosstradomus & NGHTMRE – Lighters Up
Also the name of NGHTMRE’s new tour, “Lighters Up” shies away from his usual heaven trap sound and clearly has the touch of Flosstradomus on it.
13.) Adam K & Slander – Breathe
Slander’s most recent release and name of their new tour, “Breathe” has the soothing vocals of Matthew Steeper & Haliene and is of course accompanied by a skillful Slander drop. Give this one a listen and keep your eyes open to see if they’re touring near you.
14.) NGHTMRE & Boombox Cartel – Aftershock
Released over three months ago with Boombox Cartel, NGHTMRE’S “Aftershock” is still producing an aftershock and can often be heard in the LA based producer’s sets.
15.) Seven Lions – Don’t Leave (Slander Remix)
A remix of an artist that I cherish deeply, Slander hits right at home with their remix of Seven Lion’s progressive classic “Don’t Leave.” Featuring the vocals of none other than Ellie Goulding, this one will always be one of my favorite remixes. Remixing an already beautiful song takes guts, and I must say that Slander does it just perfectly. To Slander, I say well done, and thank you.
If you’re NYC based, Slander & NGHTMRE will be at Webster Hall this April, make sure to check them out! Will be a performance you don’t want to miss.
Writer’s note: I’ve been following Slander’s work for awhile, they’re really the first trap/heaven trap producer I really started to like. It was after discovering them that I started to take a keen interest in NGHTMRE. Even if you’re not into trap like I was, their live sets are much more than that.
After listening to most of their sets, I have seen several occasions where they have no problem mashing in some progressive songs to give their sets some diversity. NGHTMRE & Slander are close friends and very often collaborate together, if you have the chance to see either of them, I highly suggest you do it. Both artists have been killing it the past two years and will likely continue to rise to the top. Keep your eyes peeled!
