23 year old DJ/Producer Zedd has made a monumental impact on the EDM world today. Classically trained in piano at a young age followed by playing in rock bands for almost 10 years, then taking producing electronic music seriously shortly after finishing up college. Just coming off a tour with electro-house young gun Porter Robinson, a very fitting duo, they rocked the house with their hard hitting electro beats mixed in with beautiful house ballads that may bring a tear to your eye.
With his recent release of his full length album “Clarity”, Zedd is a pioneer bringing house music and EDM to the forefront of mainstream entertainment. Zedd recently served as an opening act for Lady Gaga’s tour in Asia. His songs are also featured in the HP ENVY 4 Touchsmart Sound of Touch Commercial, featuring “thatdeafdj” DJ Robbie Wilde. He even makes a cameo appearance in the new Beats By Dre headphones commercial.
As with any great artist that is constantly growing and evolving with experience, it looks like Zedd is taking a little change in direction from the edgey electro house sound that got us all hooked, to a more melodic tone with angelic vocals working with up and coming superstars Ellie Goulding. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen Zedd live but needless to say each time he never disappoints. He is always a main priority act to watch at the countless music festivals I’ve attended.
