In a time when we all need a sliver of silver lining, techno maven Adam Beyer answers the call by returning with a brand new EP, Dirty Lagoon, following an impressive 2021 which birthed legendary collaborations featuring DJ Rush and Kevin Saunderson. Beyer explains that Dirty Lagoon is inspired by his experiences living in Ibiza and the dichotomy between the island’s stunning natural environment and the human-made waste threatening its very existence. One can definitely feel the beauty and influence of Ibiza’s splendor in all three throwback-treated tracks.
Furthermore, the artist will be donating 100% of his profits from the title track to Coral Vita, an award-winning company that protects ecosystems by growing diverse and resilient corals that are then out-planted into damaged reefs. For quick reference: reefs provide protection, shelter, nitrogen and carbon assistance, as well as being a main source of nutrients for marine food chains; and they are essential to our planet’s survival. “’Dirty Lagoon’ has been a highlight record in all of my sets in recent months. It’s a style of punchy, club techno that I’m into in the sense that it’s driving but it has playful elements. Supporting it on this EP is also ‘Code is The Code’ and ‘Dub Embassy’ which bring two contrasting styles to the package, the first more energetic and atmospheric and the second more tripped out and hypnotic. I think this EP sums up the different sides of my current sound perfectly – powerful, energetic, emotive techno.”
