For the past several years, burn Residency has offered up-and-coming DJs the chance of a lifetime: a full-fledged residency at an esteemed Ibiza club. Burn is once again offering hopeful DJs a chance at stardom with their new iteration of the contest. The contest tasks DJs to submit a 15 to 20 minute mix to their facebook page. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite mixes and enable the DJs to advance to a mix-off event if his or her mix is voted within the top 20 percent of their country.
After a global mix-off event, the winning five DJs will undergo a two-week bootcamp led by 2 world-class DJs. Avicii, Fatboy Slim, David Guetta, 2manyDJs, Steve Lawler, and others have instructed winners in the past. The identity of the 2 DJs will be revealed in the coming weeks. Once the participants complete the bootcamp, they will be rewarded with an Ibiza residency at clubs such as Privilege, Cafe Mambo, and Sankeys.
Burn has also scaled up the stakes this year, awarding one of the five winners with a 100,000 euro contract in the purpose of ensuring a winner’s long-term success. It will be exciting to vote for our favorite mixes and chart the progression of the winners of the contest.
