Callie Reiff and KAEYRA have a new single, “Heart Ain’t Safe” and it’s just what all the indie club kids need. At just 21, musical prodigy and industry trendsetter, Callie Reiff has been keeping herself very busy! The New York-born and raised has proven to be an accomplished producer, DJ, artist, performer, and model. Her career really kicked off when she made history at 15 when she became the youngest DJ to perform at Webster Hall! Since then, Callie has opened up for acts like Skrillex, Ed Sheeran, Deadmau5, and has performed at festivals around the world like Creamfields, EDCLV, Tomorrowland, and Ultra! From day one her music has captured the attention of tastemakers like Diplo, The Cut, Annie Nightingale, Teen Vogue, Spotify, Rinse FM’s Marcus Nasty, and BBC Radio 1’s! She’s making quite the name for herself and has no intentions of slowing down.
Callie took the last few years to really hone her production skills, and has returned with what she describes as a fusion of “pop/indie-forward vocals and New York club energy production” a genre she coined “Indie-Club”. Callie entered 2021 with “The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0 (with Lenii),” a record that set the precedent for her indie and electronica vibes and continued the momentum at the top of 2021 with a series of hot new singles, each one further proving there is no limit for Callie’s ever-evolving career.
Her latest “ Heart Ain’t Safe” showcases not just her own talents but those of emerging singer-songwriter and collaborator on the hit, Kaeyra! At just 19, the Chicago native, Kaeyra is a multi-instrumentalist with a focus on the piano, bass, guitar, drums, and flute. The obvious perfect duo to create what’s sure to be the next big hit on the charts and playing in all the clubs across the globe. “Heart Ain’t Safe,” is that song that literally anyone who’s ever had their heart stolen can relate to. It’s that girls’ night-out anthem. The song you play on repeat while trying to keep your thoughts in the present, and all you want to do is be with that one person who owns your heart.
“‘Heart Ain’t Safe’ is about that one person who is always in the back of your mind. Wherever you are at, you know if they were there you would ditch the party to be with them,” Callie says. “I tried to mimic the lyrics with a somewhat dark feeling bassline, intense drums, and an energy that makes you want to be in the middle of a dark rave dancing with all of your friends.”
The track represents another bold progression for Callie, her energizing beats and soaring soundscapes are the perfect complements to Kaeyra’s soulful vocals. It’s a great example of Callie’s signature “Indie-Club” sound! We are excited for whatever Callie Reiff throws at us next. This 21-year-old is making HEAVY moves and we are here for it!
