Adam Beyer – Stockholm based DJ/producer has been showing people how to techno since the mid-’90s. The Swedish artist emerged onto the scene as a skilled DJ in the ’90s and later crafted his sound to become the prolific producer he is today.
In 1995, Adam Beyer released his first solo EP, Drum Codes 1 on Planet Rhythm Records, which in turn provided the name for his highly-esteemed label to come, Drumcode. The following year, Planet Rhythm released Beyer’s debut full-length album, Decoded, along with its remix counterpart, Recoded in 1997.
His music catalog is remarkably extensive with the majority of his work on his very own label, Drumcode Records. Drumcode came to life in 1996 and has since become more than a record label, but an all-around brand that has played a major role in the evolution of techno. Years after establishing such a successful imprint, Beyer introduced Truesoul Records to the world. Regarded as Drumcode’s little brother, the label focused on the deeper, softer (although not always the case) sides of techno. With the launch of Truesoul came Beyer’s third studio album, Ignition Key.
The long-serving, underground icon has stuck to the mantra, “Respect the sound, maintain its integrity and gradually push things forward.” From countless albums, EPs, singles, and mixes over his 20+ year career, he has followed suit with this ideology. We’ve compiled a playlist of Beyer originals that remain on constant rotation – including older singles “Number in Between” and “Snuff & Noise,” as well as today’s Beatport charters, “Your Mind” with Bart Skills, “Space Date” and “Data Point” with Layton Giordani and Green Velvet. Take a listen to these tracks, plus much more down below!
Ruler of the underground circuit and major music festivals worldwide – Adam Beyer does it all. Join us at the Royal Circus on December 30th as the legendary producer graces the decks of Decadence Arizona. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, single day and two-day GA/VIP passes are available here.
