It’s safe to say that everybody loves a little bit of drum & bass. From Bassnectar at BassLanta, to Dillon Francis at Das Energi, or Marshmello this past weekend at Echostage in Washington, DC, drum & bass has a way to switch up the beat, kick it up a notch, and restart the crowd in a way that few genres can.
But if you’re itching and you need to satisfy that fix with a full set, then you’re in luck because the founder of Shogun Audio, the UK’s best drum & bass independent label and The Radio 1 Drum & Bass host Friction will be giving a full serving at EDC Orlando in 16 days on Friday, November 4th.
It’s been a busy year for Friction with three EPs and multiple singles all being played throughout the festival scene all summer. His most recent track “Active” with fellow Shogun Radio artist Karma taken from his EP Augmented is an aggressive and destructive track that has been smashing dance floors for over a month.
To get an idea of the more melodic and progressive side of Friction’s collection, look no farther than his most recent EP Bring It Back. Beginning with an 8-byte infusion of childhood video games, ‘Bring It Back” does just that. Follow that up with the orchestral build of “Terabye”, it quickly flips a switch and goes into full head-bang mode.
