Increasingly prominent figures in the dance music industry, burgeoning Chicago-based duo, X5IGHT, have returned with yet another stellar, and evocative remix, this time of The Fray’s classic tune, “How To Save A Life”. Having formed back in 2012, the duo has already established themselves within the scene on the basis of a plethora of inventive, vivacious remixes, as well as some distinctive original productions, and has already landed some noteworthy gigs at clubs and festivals across the United States. Time, and again, X5IGHT has proven to be able to extrapolate their signature sound (rooted in the melodic progressive/electro house genre) to various styles of electronic music, making for some adept, and innovative tracks.
This remix of the iconic 2004 tune, which is sure to elicit a wave of nostalgia from a fair few dance music fans, adds a pulsing layer of electro-house style energy to artfully juxtapose the profound, haunting vocals and ominously somber chord progression. X5IGHT’s dynamic coalescence of bouncy rhythms, spirited synth plucks, and warm, vibrant pads bring a more uplifting vibe to the tune, resulting in a bright, and fresh adaptation of the original.
