This week features a balance of poppy, deep, and minimal chill house vibes, a genre that continues to grow, expand, multiply, crossover, and flourish. It’s crazy right now, but amazing tunes are being born out of the evolution that’s occurring. Below are just a few good recent ones that caught our eye, check out our past playlists for more.
Charles Blossfeldt ft. Aquarius Heaven – Teasing
“Teasing” takes you on a minimal – what I would call a space adventure. The gradual build up and sustained “science” synths provide the perfect platform for the subtle yet fitting lyrics provided by Aquarius Heaven. If you are looking for some music to turn down and chill out to, this is the one.
LVTHER – Some Kind Of Magic (feat. MYZICA)
Wow, I’ve never heard pop, bass music and video-game music be paired in quite this way, but LVTHER has done it! A bold, but fitting track for Monstercat to sign, LVTHER is quickly making a name for himself, look out for this dude in 2016, he’s poppin’ off and getting mad love from other blogs as well.
Spirix – Something About You (feat. ALIUS)
Taking this week’s playlist in a more poppy direction is Spirix. Passionate, strained vocals, a heavy piano rhythm, and just the right amount of commercial chill house makes “Something About You (feat. ALIUS)” a pleasure ride. This is his first release, dropped on Casual Jams, but surely wont be his last.
uppermost – Talisman (feat. Lisa Alma)
A perfect balance of ambiance, vocal seduction, and deep house vibes – uppermost makes a tune that feels unbelievably good from beginning to end. Close your eyes and let it take you on a super smooth journey.
Rudimental ft MNEK – Common Emotion (The Golden Pony Remix)
The one and only The Golden Pony takes over a classic, giving it a great new touch that enhances the intense production and singing power of the original. TGP states “Were huge fans of Rudimental! Especially live, they are able to effortlessly blend instrumentation with electronic vibes.” Sounds like they chose the right track.
Ayosha feat. Tihamer – Burning Bridges (Club Edit)
Easily one of the coolest, darkest tracks on the list is Ayosha feat. Tihamer, “Burning Bridge”. Completely different than anything I’ve heard in a long time. Ayosha is from Germany and you can surely here the hard German sound within this music, can’t wait to hear what is next.
Destiny’s Child – Jumpin’ Jumpin’ (Billy-On Remix)
The name on it’s own is appealing. Having the gonads to take on such an old school track almost always means it’s going to turn out well. “Jumpin’ Jumpin’ (Billy-On Remix)” is apart of this truth, the song keeps it simple, keeps it dark – keeps it trill honestly. The beat is easy to get into, whether its background or club music, it delivers.
flybear – The Wilhelm Scream (flybear cover)
As soon as I heard this song, Chet Porter came to my head. This tune is light and simple, yet fun, poppy, and ironically complicated from a music theory standpoint – flat out easy to love. Anyone from any music culture can approach, hear, and enjoy this song, it just has the cross-over vibe that transcends. flybear is officially on our radar.
