The summer vibes are intense and the strong flow of great chill vibes continues to waterfall. Per usual, recently release songs from across the board have made their way onto this list. Chill out this 4th of July with some great new pick-me-ups, ranging from experimental to pop-house.
Empire Of The Sun – Walking 0n A Dream (Razz X Zack Martino Remix)
I’m not sure why, but the first idea that popped into my head when listening is: this what Mako, SNBRN, and The Him would make if they had a baby. “Walking 0n A Dream (Razz X Zack Martino Remix)” truly turns up the nostalgia and does one of my favorite things to a remix, transforms the mood of the original to something new, surprising, and really fitting.
Stephen – Crossfire (Sean Turk Remix)
“Crossfire (Sean Turk Remix)” takes the the Stephen experience to new realms. BBC Radio 1 and iHeart Radio have taken a liking to Sean Turn as well, so keep an eye for his name there sometime soon. Sean Turk has seen alot of action and support in his day, join him as he explores a new phase with this alias, it certainly has been nothing but good so far.
Kav Verhouzer & Palm Trees – In My Arms
Kav Verhouzer & Palm Trees have been destroying the game these past 2 weeks, with over 200K plays the tune has outdone it self and the 2 have solidified themselves in the electronic music scene. For Kav Verhouzer in particular, it’s as if he can do no wrong right now. The chill house vibes are stand-out strong with this one.
Matoma – False Alarm
The one and only Matoma has dropped another tropical pop release that maintains great relevancy. In many ways, Matoma is at the peak of what the tropical house movement has developed into in 2016 – he’s one of a handful who have cornered enough of the niche market via his great sound and strong brand to be truly be called a professional at what he goes for.
Mako – Into The Sunset (Acoustic)
If there is any single that is going to hit you right in the feels, it’s this one. “Into The Sunset” made Mako stand out above the crowd with their highly-addicting pop sound, strong hooks, and phenomenal vocal features. The acoustic does exactly what you’d expect, so enjoy every second is almost guaranteed for you. Mako seems very careful at what they do and what they present, and it shows.
Crywolf – Slow Burn (Bronze Whale Remix)
“Slow Burn (Bronze Whale Remix)” is a chill trap tune that’s doesn’t go too extreme in one direction or another. Bronze Whale has great taste in what he remixes, as well as confidence in his soulful production additions layered atop the sexy vocals he plays with. This one makes you think.
Vicetone – Nevada (feat. Cozi Zuehlsdorff)
I am a huge Vicetone fan, but I was delightfully surprised they were going for more chill sounds with “Nevada”, (kind of like what DJ snake is doing with “Middle”), especially it being out on Monstercat. The vibe is just oh so sweet, Vicetone hit the bullseye. The duo have released a music video along side the release, check out their Facebook to see more.
No Funks Given – Run The Trip
It’s safe to say No Funks Given has a variety of sounds within them they are getting out to the world. “Run The Trip” is the trippiest track on this list, featuring delayed syth effects, and strong bass at the right moments, and so much more. No Funks Given will continue to produce and surprise going into 2016.
illstrtd feat. Mack Moses – Pictures Don’t Fade
Essentially, future bass has become a funnel that all types of genres are sifting through right now. illstrtds’ latest release goes deep into the world of sexy r&b, thanks to the vocals of Mack Moses. Get ready to jam and sing along right from your computer chair. illstrtd has also been supported by the famous Triple J, among many other artists and outlets.
DUX – Diana
Taking the vibe in a more ambient direction “Diana” takes the adventure down a more experimental path. DUX slowly builds more elements around the house core as time progresses. The gradual, but slow movement of “Diana” is really where the charm is at. Great background music for anytime or live show music in the right setting.
King Deco – Castaway (ALMAND Remix)
ALMAND is back! ALMAND has really stepped up his game as he returns with a sick line up of new videos that are super relatable. “Castaway (ALMAND Remix)” is future bass at its core but has semi-spiritual / dramatic elements within that just feel right, making the tune hard to forget. ALMAND is another artist on this list who has strong choice in what he remixes, I’m sure he has alot more coming down the pipe this year.
