This week was a bit more slow than usual, but good releases found their way to writers and into this playlist. Alot of poppier songs, as well as a few particularly inventive releases can be found below. It’s been a good day on our end, we hope to make yours even better!
White Cliffs ft. Hugh EP – “Come Here” (PRMD DSCVR)
Founded by Avicii’s manager, PRMD has released a chill track that like no other on the list. White Cliffs describe the tune as “…a song that encourages everyone nearby to come closer and dance.” That it does, starting off: the 808 bass layered with relaxing, original percussion work makes the ears perk. Then comes in reggae-esque vocals of Hugh EP, adding a rhythm and tone that’s all its own.”Come Here” is fun from all angles.
The Odds x Bronze Whale – Best
The Odds really puts a magical vocal atop an already dope instrumental that speaks volumes. “Best” is a confident title, bet undoubtably delivers some above average feels with it’s epic future bass drop and mysterious build up that essentially starts from the moment you hit play. “Best” is one of three releases off of The Odds and Bronze Whale’s upcoming EP Million. From the looks of it, this EP is going to be top tier, especially if you dig sounds in the realm of Imad Royal, Crywolf, Gallant and Stephen.
Patrick Baker – Back to Galveston (‘Panski Remix)
Atlanta-based solo artist Panski has released a new remix that long time fans especially will love. “Back to Galveston (‘Panski Remix)” has the classic signature sound of a tropical/chill house song with a splash of country/folk. The combination has always been something I’ve adore – an original feel that radio and dance music fans can relate with.
Madden — Alive (Kids Want Techno Remix)
Kids Want Techno are a unique addition to the uplifting house spectrum. Jordan and Adam have a long track record of solid releases that include just the right amount of pop and positivity “Madden — Alive (Kids Want Techno Remix)” is no different, featuring a dope 80’s-ish rhythm and lead synth that quickly drops off into a dramatic bridge. Madden’s “Alive” needed a remix like this.
FOMO – Missing You (feat. Aybe) (Original Mix)
Aybe’s is a name I had not heard much before this release, but I’m glad I did, she blew this track away. FOMO’s “Missing You” taps into alot of trends that are popular right now, laying the groundwork for a solid tune, then letting Aybe finish it up. FOMO is a Baltimore-based producer and songwriter, formally apart of The Socialytes, which was highly praised and recognized. Don’t miss “Missing You (feat. Aybe)”.
