This week’s Unwind The Mind collects a handful of originals that we were digging this week, ending the list on a more “live band” feel. Thanksgiving is coming up, make sure to share sick music moments with the ones you love.
FRND – Sticks And Stones
FRND’s “Sticks And Stones” is refreshing vibe to hear in a sea of dark indie sounds. Small elements of future house, future bass, and (as mentioned) indie vocals come together in an unique arrangement to form an experience that grabs your attention. Making it’s way within New Music Friday on Spotify, “Sticks And Stones” is gaining huge traction quickly, there’s simply nothing to dispute from the audio or visual perspective with FRND. Can’t wait to see what they do in 2017.
The Unknown Neighbour – Little Boy (‘Panski Remix)
Based out of Atlanta, Panski is a solo artist with distinctive elements, one of them being his country-folk angle he included in his style. This side of him is expressed once again with his new remix of The Unknown Neighbour’s “Little Boy.” In my opinion, it’s only a matter of time until this young talent is discovered. He crosses over 2 very popular music worlds with a pop feel and a wonderful spirit, there’s a lot of love here.
The 1975 – Somebody Else (EMBRZ Remix)
I actually have not heard of the original or remixing artist, but I’m stoked that I have now. EMBRZ influence of minimal house, trance, and indie pop all mixed in this one, the first two being the most surprising elements to combine. “Somebody Else (EMBRZ Remix)” is amazing melancholy montage music that seriously hits you in the feels hard. This one has a super original nature that few up-and-coming commercial dance music artists can touch right now.
Ghasper – Silver
PRMD Music is on fire right now, one of their latest being an original by Ghasper entitled “Silver” The theme takes on video game-esque sounds, a party-club vibe, and future bass – the evil-ish organ ending is like icing on the cake. Ghasper knocks this one out of the park, that last part giving it that extra sauce to make it unforgettable.
Gil Glaze – Cant Let You Go
We recently came across up and coming producer, Gil Glaze, and his new release “Can’t Let You Go”. This tune has a melodic deep house sound that we cannot get enough of. Gil’s combination of heavy bassline, calming melody, beautiful vocals, and soulful lyrics, makes for the perfect love song. An interesting fact is this track was originally produced as part of a class project at New York University. Gil has been holding onto this gem for over a year, hoping to find the right label to release it, that label being Dirty Soul. All we can say is we love what we hear so far, and we are excited to see what else Gil Glaze has in store for us.
Bearoid – Enemy
“Enemy” is probably the most earthly, organic, natural-instrument-sounding single on the list. Acting as a nice balance point to the highly electronic sounds from above. Yet, the original certainly focuses on a house / disco tempo. Bearoid’s vocals truly fit’s the feeling of the beat. He’s got a signature sound he’s locked onto early.
