I love seeing the envelope being pushed forward, I felt like that was the overwhelming theme of the releases that were recieved this week. From the weird to the just-right, enjoy this week’s Unwind The Mind below.
Richfellow – Eyes on Me (feat. Snappy Jit)
This is the first time Richfellow has reach my ears, damn am I glad he has. Right off the bat, his percussion grabs your attention, with a super clean feel and proper rythme. “Eyes on Me (feat. Snappy Jit)” takes elements from Diplo-style sounds, the bass house movement, and aspects from the bass music genre generally to form a beautiful hybrid that is truly memorable.
The White Panda X VÉRITÉ – Somebody Else (The 1975 Cover)
In every dance music movement, there are winners and losers. The White Panda got their name out there initially during the mash up days of 2011 and 2012. (Very nostalgic time for me.) Yet, TWP obviously came out as winners, imo focusing on stragetic artistic evolution over the years. Today, their brand is rock solid, they are touring like crazy, and they continue to put out gems, this time the jewel being “Somebody Else (The 1975 Cover)” made with VERITE. Keep the good times rolling, fellas.
PatrickReza – Fly
“Fly” is one of the hardest tracks PatrickReza has made yet, but still fits within the realm of sounds he is known for delivering on. Patrick is on his way to 100K followers and his overall growth seems to never slow. I love the suprises PatrickReza keeps pushing, this one was one the best bombshells yet.
Razz – Overthinking (Feat. Aviella Winder) (Alexi. Remix)
Alexi. was smart to jump on the Razz move, imo he’s an underrated future bass guy who will creep up and blow up on everyone musically, time will tell. Alexi.’s sound completely expands on the vision and vibe that Razz puts out, my favorite part being the super catchy, bouncy melodic synth you find in the drop. Keep it up Alexi.
Deadmau5 – Let Go Feat. Grabbitz (Seigyn Remix)
“Let Go Feat. Grabbitz (Seigyn Remix)” is one of the most experimental chill releases on this week’s list. Seigyn, based out of California, remixes Deadmau5 and Grabbitz’s “Lets Go” single into something worth hearing. A little bit of techno, a little bit of prog, and splash of what I would call his signature sound make “Let Go Feat. Grabbitz (Seigyn Remix)” the all-encompassing experience that it is.
Kill Paris – Good Love
Kill Paris initially got big around 2-4 years ago, and the growth just keeps coming. His ability to adapt and continue to pump out amazing music is sign of pure, secured talent. I’ve loved Kill Paris since “I Love You Lana Del Rey (Where I Left My Heart)” and really enjoy the chapters in his nearly decade long story – can’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Headhunterz – Landslide
This is certianly a change of pace for the typically hardstyle-charged producer, Headhunterz, who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in EDM, yet “Landslide,” released on Ultra Records, hits the sweet spot with super smooth sounds and heart-warming vibes at levels many wish they were at. Previously, HeadHunterz has collaborated with artists such as Krewella, W&W, Carnage, Crystal Lake, Hardwell, Reunify, R3hab and Steve Aoki, but clearly he was saving some of best stuff all for himself!
TyDi & Col3man (Ft. Melanie Fontana) – That’s How You Know
TyDi is a legend with a cult following, now he’s partnered with the likes of Col3man and Melanie Fontana to make a soothing single perfect for finishing this week’s Unwind The Mind on a great note. Col3man has had 4 singles charting the Billboard Top 40 and 2 singles on the Sirius XM top 100 records of the year, TyDi was smart to pick up on this artist.
