Things are really heating up as events like Miami music week and festival season continues to come upon us, it’s great to see that festivals and events are deciding to choose the chiller side of dance music to feature on the lineup spectrum. Check out some of our favorite chill releases from this week.
INSTRUM – Night Rolls (ft. Somni)
“Night Rolls (ft. Somni)” focuses on higher-pitched bells and strong vocal versus, which makes the tune seductive in ways that is hard to pin-point. Whatever this vibe is, it stands out and completely consumes you at first listen.
Imad Royal – Vagabond
Imad Royal’s voice is his signature sound. His last big work struck a chord at the blog, us along with many others have been waiting to see what’s next. “Vagabond’ is fresh, chill introduction to the solo artist in 2016, that doesn’t go overboard on melodies. The message is strong, the vocal flow is natural, and the elements that make up the fabric of the tune tie together well.
Nozart – Just Let It Go
Indirectly referencing Mozart in your name is a bold move, but “Just Let It Go” is one of the most highly creative songs on the list. Leaning more on the indie side than what it usually posted here, “Just Let It Go” features just the right amount of catchiness, chill, and sunkissed-pop to cross-musical boundaries.
Two Friends ft. ktpearl – Forever
Two Friends are on fire and they know it. They’ve zoned in on a sound that works, that’s commercial friendly, and have a massive soundcloud support to back it up – if you missed this tune then you’ve been out sick for a while or something. “Forever” captures a unique milestone in Two Friend’s story. Their solid productions and accurate insight of how DJ digital marketing works right now are some of my favorite aspects of the group; the doors that will be open here on are probably mostly unforeseen.
SIVIK – Black Light
I remember stumbling on SIVIK’s Spring EP a while back and being blown away. The songwriting abilities of the Nashville artist are quite impressive. On SIVIK’s new EP, Winter Collection the overall sound is of the same quality with a few new tweaks. Check it out the EP’s newest original, Black Light.
WOMP! & Maya Payne – Falling (Remix)
This song made me amazed at how the line between bass house, future house, deep house, and tropical house are permanently and constantly blurring. This new wave of music is continually evolving, who knows what the future will bring. Back to the tune, WOMP! & Maya Payne add all the right design elements wrapped in a great song choice – this remix is the right amount of pop and deep that’s perfect for anytime.
Andrew Grant – Gravity
Andrew Grant’s new track, “Gravity” pulls some serious weight. Its slow moving chords and deep vocal parts make this a song you just might want to listen to. And once that drop comes in you will be submerged in the unique style of Andrew Grant.
Sigma – Stay (Kat Krazy Remix)
With over 20m stream plays to his name Kat Krazy drops another fresh house remix with his classic “3 on 4” rhythm pattern. “Stay (Kat Krazy Remix)” is noticeably at a lower tempo than many of Kat Krazy’s other tracks, giving the KK sound an even more sensational and infectious vibe about it. 2016 Kat Krazy is looking even better than expected.
Missy Modell x icantwait – Rhythm Of The Night/679 (cover)
Missy Modell’s breakout track is a mash-up/remix of Rhythm Of The Night and 679. The singer really pulls it off on this one and I’ll be keeping my eye out to see what she has in store down the line. I can imagine some collaborations might be in order.
Evan Riley – Paper Rain (Original Mix)
Easily of the most instrumental and experimental tunes on the tune on the list. “Paper Rain (Original Mix)” is a vibe that just feels right. The rhythm may be a bit much for some, but hearing the time put into make a song hyper-detailed is easy to appreciate. Percussion fans, trap fans, house fans, and more can all related to what Evan Riley is serving.
Eljay- Love So Fine (feat. Deverano)
New label, Lush Records, looking to show a relaxing side of electronic music chose wisely for their first release featuring London based Eljay. He brings a unique mix of R&B and future bass as well as a more sensual side to usually heavy hitting trap. With a release also on London’s Trapdoor records this up and coming artist is one to watch.
