Summer vibes are strong, and the music is reflecting it. From the pop and deep house world, great chill music has come our way this week worth sharing. Let’s enjoy peak music festival season while its here! Add these tunes to go-to road-trip playlists for an extra dose of happiness.
The Lost Angeles — Coulda Been Something (Kids Want Techno Remix)
Kids Want Techno deliver a sound that stands out among the wall of chill house / poppy deep house tunes that hit the internet every day. For me, the drums and voice on “Coulda Been Something (Kids Want Techno Remix)” are really something special, the 2 combine to form a vibe that would go great with an epic, badass underdog montage or could easily be played on today’s radio. KWT’s new single is a great addition to the musical story of the duo thus far and a well chosen tune to remix.
Happy Sometimes – Take Me Out
This has to be one of the greatest extremes I’ve ever seen in a cover. By that I mean never have I seen a cover be such a fitting, but opposite sound from the original, but Happy Sometimes has done it and then some. Covers are a dime a dozen these days, but Happy Sometimes does it right – a dope track for anytime.
Popeska – Don’t Walk Away
Popeksa’s last tune was one of the best future bass / indie-pop originals I’ve had the pleasure of hearing all year. The tune was a dope comeback and did amazingly well on HypeM, garnering over 1.5K hearts. Popeska has swiftly released another, this time called “Don’t Walk Away”, boasting a pretty dynamic follow-up that’s more experimental and all it’s own.
SvanteG – Let Me (ft. Lou)
Sometimes simple is better. In this case of SvanteG, this is certainly true. The future bass rhythm speaks for itself. Carrying you along the path of “Let Me (ft. Lou)” while the vocalist tells a story that is candy to the ears. SvanteG is officially on my radar.
