In 2012 Spinnin’ Records started the first version of Talent Pool, an interactive application on Facebook who gave beginning producers the opportunity to share their talent with the world. For the ones who are not familiar with the last version of Talent Pool, the application worked in a way that talents were able to upload their self-produced tracks on the Facebook page via their Soundcloud account, by which they could draw attention from the audience and from Spinnin’s A&R. They could collect votes from the public and in this way achieve a high spot inside the chart of Talent Pool, which draws attention from Spinnin’s A&R and could lead to a possible contract offer at the record label.
Today the Talent Pool has been developed to another level. On the 20th of May Spinnin’ Records opened up its renewed Talent Pool. An improved and reinvented version of the application, designed in an extra efficient way and now available on the website of Spinnin’ Records itself, made for easier sharing for the artists and more productive listening for Spinnin’s A&R. The new Talent Pool provides the opportunity to add a profile and social features that weren’t possible on Facebook before and Spinnin’s A&R will check the charts on a daily basis, providing interest and feedback.
The Beta version of the pool already attracted the attention of many of the former talent Pool artists. Many profiles are already created and according to Meindert Kennis, head of marketing of Spinnin’ Records and creator of the Talent Pool, the company sees “producers support and follow each other, commenting and giving feedback on their tracks and browsing through profiles. It’s been an overwhelming success so far.” Spinnin’ Records’ new Talent Pool will lead to more creativity, competition, involvement, but above all a fresh amount of music. So let’s hear it peeps and be ready to share and enjoy some art.
